London based Ten Ton Tabby have been making a name for themselves since they formed in 2006 and with two excellent EP’s – ‘Music For The Modern Woodsman’ released in 2010 and ‘Stone By Stone’ released in 2014, this band are quite frankly the masters of the riff.

South Coast based band Davy’s Gripp are about to release their second EP comprising of 5 tracks and entitled ‘The Search’ along with a premiere of their music video which is being launched on YouTube on 26th October at 8pm (UK time), to much anticipation. Having been very kindly given a preview of the new EP and video prior to general release by the band, I can honestly say that not only will current fans of the band be thrilled by their latest release but this is the EP that is going to gain a whole new legion of fans with their music.

Cambridge based band The Treatment have achieved a lot since they were formed in 2008. Not only have they released 2 albums This Might Hurt in 2011 and Running With The Dogs in 2014, they have also toured with rock gods such as Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy, Slash, Kiss and Mötley Crue to name but a few, a pretty impressive rock pedigree for a band that started out so young.

Having already booked to see The Treatment at 2 venues in October as Buffalo Summer are the support for that tour along with Massive, when it was also announced they were supporting Phil Campbell’s All Starr Band in August as well, I had to go along to hear them play live as I had heard a couple of songs and really liked them.

I like American rock bands, a lot of my albums over the years have been imported from the US when they haven’t been available over here in the UK, especially when the band hasn’t always had the exposure they deserve outside of the States.
One such band I came across via Twitter was a 3 piece rock band from Akron, Ohio by the name of Devilstrip. A listen on RevebNation to the track Go from their debut album Rise which was released 1st August, confirmed that Devilstrip were just my kind of band. Formed in 2013 Marc Wasmund (Vocals, guitar) Graig Lindgren (Bass) Jimmy Gray (Drums) have been steadily gaining support with a number of shows and have also joined Buckcherry on tour in the last year.

I always listen to The New Rock Show on Planet Rock as Wyatt Wendels features 5 new artists each Saturday that are not heard during the day and it is an excellent opportunity to listen to some great bands that are probably new to many of those that tune into the show. So when Wyatt played the BlackWolf single Moving Mountains a couple of weeks ago, I really liked how they sounded and I wanted to hear more of them.

Formed in Melbourne in 2012, Massive describe themselves as a deadly 8 legged Aussie rock-monster that isn’t for the faint-hearted and Full Throttle certainly backs up that claim, with Brad Marr (Vocals, Guitar), Ben Laguda (Lead Guitar), Aidan McGarrigle (Bass) and Jarrod Medwin (Drums) producing a turbo-charged rock album that engulfs the senses from the very first play and this album has 15 tracks of rock at its very best.
