Athens based Brothers are an alternative rock band made up of four brothers. Originally known as Brothers In Plug, they released their debut album ‘The Day Just Begun’ in 2011, and soon after they shortened the band name to Brothers. Their first video ‘Somewhere Along The Line’ was released in December 2014. A 4 track EP of the same name is due for release in May.
Formed in 2007, their early music was a blend of the 70s’s, roots rock and textural guitars of the 80s, before expanding into a more contemporary alternative/indie rock sound.
In 2011, Brothers in Plugs were announced winners of the “Bon Jovi Group Contest”, subsequently opening the Bon Jovi Concert in Athens (O.A.K.A Stadium) on July 20th, 2011 and receiving critical acclaim for their performance.
Brothers incorporate a sound of melodic guitars over a darker sounding vocal, with elements of distortion to make this a rich soundscape. With a catchy rhythm and the addition of keyboards, this compliments the alternative rock sound from the band.
Their forthcoming EP ‘Somewhere Along The Line’ is an evolving sound from the band, with layers that bring together lush harmonies with a range of styles over the 4 songs. The title track ‘Somewhere Along The Line’ builds on this sound and brings a heavier rhythm into the track as it progresses. All the songs from the band are a changing landscape of sound to make Brothers a band to take notice of and the EP will be a much anticipated release.
