Liverpool based Matchstickmen are due to release their latest single ‘For No Reason’ on 27th February through MainLine Records and Code 7 Distribution. A percentage of the sales will be donated to The Cybersmile Foundation, a multi award-winning anti-cyberbullying non-profit organization committed to tackling all forms of online bullying and hate campaigns. The foundation was formed in 2010 by the parents of children directly affected by cyberbullying.
Lead singer Lewis Wright was personally affected by cyberbullying and explains that “The subject matter of ‘For No Reason’ is about someone close to me being bullied and not being able to escape it because of the rise of social media and cyber-bullying. We wanted to bring the issue to people’s attention because it seems so much harder for kids now to when we were growing up.”
To tie in with the new release, Matchstickmen will be also headlining a show on the day of the single relase at The KrazyHouse nightclub in Liverpool. Limited free passes (plus postal costs) are available now for the event from Matchstickmen’s website store: http://www.matchstickmen-band.com
Having been given pre-release access to the single, it is a brilliant sounding track with delicious guitars over melodic vocals and is full of emotive lyrics. ‘For No Reason’ will be available to purchase from digital outlets including iTunes and Amazon and can be pre-ordered at the end of January 2015.
Matchstickmen are releasing ‘For No Reason’ as their first single from their forthcoming second album ‘From Our Own Ashes’.
