Southampton based The Smokin’ Prophets have announced plans to record their debut album ‘Deceived Diseased’ that is due for release in October. The album is to be funded via PledgeMusic and as well as a stack of exclusive items, pledgers will be able to hear the album a full month in advance via download, along with exclusive studio updates from the band throughout the recording process.
The Smokin’ Prophets band members Marty Mayhem (Vocals/Guitar), Jayke Turl (Bass/Vocals), Matt Bristow (Guitar) and Ali Williams (Drums) promise this will be an album of “13 high octane songs with influences from Punk to Sleazy Hard Rock. This is no bullshit rock n roll, We play what we want when we want to play it. From the guitar driven Hard Rock of Guns n Roses to the Glam and Punk of Johnny Thunders and The New York Dolls. The pop punk of Greenday with a nod to metal. This album is influenced by a lot and intends to have it all.”
Not just about funding the album, once the band reach their target goal, 10% of surplus funds will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Research in memory of their late friend Dan Day, so big hearts from the band as well as big plans.

Feb 06 The Railway, Winchester
Feb 13 Memorial Centre, New Milton

You can also watch their Pledge video but be warned it does contain scenes that you may find disturbing, especially the wall colours and music from Celine Dion (even the cute dog howls to that.)
