Shapes on Tape have released a new single ‘Still Believe In Love’.
According to their singer/guitarist Jason Matuskiewicz: “’Still Believe in Love’ is not a love song. It is about believing in love in the face of a universe that refuses to supply its own meaning. It synthesizes its influences in what I think is a pretty obvious way, but which synergistically manages to not simply be a mash up different ideas”
‘Still Believe In Love’ has a catchy hook with influences of garage and indie, with an upbeat tempo. Borrowing lyrical inspiration from William Shakespeare and William Faulkner, this mixture of matters of the heart combining with an lighthearted melody has already have almost 25,000 plays on Soundcloud.
Shapes on Tape is a Brooklyn based musical project whose dynamic blend of rock and electronic instrumentation moves from dreamy, psychedelic ballads, through pulsing dance anthems, and into abrasive power pop.
Genre hopping producer/multi-instrumentalist/90’s groovebox enthusiast/ Adam Kruckenberg, formerly of midwest glam legend Vibralux, and guitarist/songwriter, Jason Matuskiewicz, a veteran of beloved Lexington, KY band Candidate, began collaborating 2014. They released their debut EP ‘Motivational Speakers’,” in March 2005, and are set to release their second EP ‘No Bummers’ later in 2015.
