Century Thief have released a new song ‘Pillar’ which is taken from their new album ‘Reverie’ that was released on September 10th.
This 13 song album is the bands first unified release as Century Thief and showcases the bands true collective identity. With lush compositions, that have a folk-rock tone to them, this collection of tracks showcase the scope and depth the band have achieved with their eclectic approach to music.
Century Thief is an indie folk/rock collective based out of Toronto, Ontario. With three principal songwriters and a variety of supporting instruments, including trumpet and multi layered vocal harmonies; the group arranges diversely thoughtful songs. The songs often have an emphasis on lyrics, but sometimes veer into the instrumental, relying on unique instrumentation to provide layered soundscapes.
Since 2010 Century Thief have released one studio EP, ‘Plume’, a four song acoustic effort. They have also released one studio album, ‘Stay Stranger,’ under the moniker Mike Legere and Bury the Hatchet, recorded at Chemical Sound in Toronto, as well as a four song demo ‘Wings’, and have been featured on an electric four song EP. The three EP’s have been physically released together as an EP ‘Anthology’.
They will be touring through Ontario and Quebec to support this release in the fall of 2015.
Century Thief is focused around the songwriting of Mike Legere, Kathryn Kearns, and Omar Shabbar. Other members include Adam Reid, Jason Cliffen and Alex Furlot.
The album is available from iTunes and Bandcamp in digitial format.
