The Landed

Colchested based indie rock 4 piece The Landed have released their latest single ‘Friends’.

The Landed make classic, heart-on-sleeve music, hooks by the bucket load, air-punching guitar pop. ‘Friends’ sets the tone from the start, with jangling guitars that have an infectious hook, whilst the vocals and harmonies breeze their way through the song. Dropping in a tasty guitar solo, and a grooving bass line, it has all the elements to make it a hit song.

The Landed’s debut EP was released on 20th July, which combines the new wave edge of The Police with Fleetwood Mac’s sense of melody, the harmonic home-grown feel of Noah And The Whale with the symphonic rock of ELO. Born too late for Top of the Pops, these songs sound destined to play out over the credits of teen TV dramas. The Landed play guitar driven pop hits for the Shazam generation.

These songs have already attracted the ear of Tom Robinson at 6 Music. Standout track Taking You Out was made BBC Introducing Track of the Week by Huw Stephens at Radio 1. The last single ‘She’ was played on Tom’s Mixtape show in June.
