Bronx Cheerleader

Canadian 4 piece Bronx Cheerleader have just released their latest single ‘Mad Sam Is Dead’ which follows on from their last release ‘Get Out Your Guns’ back in the summer of 2012.

Scott Warren (Vocals/ Guitar), Joe Lapinski (Guitar/Pedal Steel), Eron Stroud (Bass) and Marshall Bureau (Drums) first released an album in 2005, with a follow up album in 2012. Now the band are back with their latest single and a new album ‘Hell In A Rocket’ also planned for a release in the summer.

With the band’s name a nod to a Mercury Rev song, this gives you an idea of how they sound. ‘Mad Sam Is Dead’ is full of delicate guitars with psychedelic undercurrents, as the vocals softly flow through the track. With indie undertones, the single also has a rock vibe to it and it an excellent myriad of swirling sounds.

CMJ has called them “one of Canada’s best kept secrets” and having heard how good the band sound, they may be right. Hopefully ‘Mad Sam Is Dead’ won’t keep them from being a secret for much longer.
