Holy ’57 have released a new single ‘Au Natrel’ in the run up to the release of the new EP ‘H’.
Holy ’57, AKA London’s Alex Mankoo, follows up his previous effort ‘Island Kids’ with the raw energy of ‘Au Naturel’, a sweat-soaked exploration of sexual identity that threatens to fall apart at the seams at every turn.
Mankoo, who enigmatically surfaced this summer, has a distinctly visual approach to music and had this to say of Au Naturel: “I had these images of bare skin in mind, moving to the driving rhythms of a distorted drum beat, being washed over by fiery reds of guitar.” The song comes with the announcement of his first EP, ‘H’, to be released on 26th October.
Mixed by former Broken Social Scene collaborator David Newfeld, ‘H’ will be the first of four EP releases introducing the Holy ‘57 repertoire.
