Ván Records has announced details of the forthcoming album from OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON US. The five-piece band who bridge the gap between post rock and sludge, will release their album, ‘Scouts on the Borderline Between the Physical and Spiritual World’, via the label in November.
To help further bring these songs to life, OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON US roped in a number of guest musicians including Kvohst (Grave Pleasures, Hexvesssel) and Hellmuth (Belphegor). The album also features guest vocals from Steindor Andersen, who is acclaimed for Rímur chanting and best known for his work with Sigur Rós.
OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON US are a collective of musicians who take their music beyond conventional boundaries; they count among their number the organiser of the Funkenflug solstice ritual festival, a tattooist who only uses traditional methods, a painter, and an author. Scouts on the Borderline Between the Physical and Spiritual World was recorded between August and November 2014 – live recordings took place at Neudegg Alm with additional recordsing at Klangschmiede Norikom by Hajot Gmeilbauer, and further recordings by Martin Schirenc (Pungent Stench), mixing and mastering by Viktor Santura (Triptykon, Dark Fortress).
