Paul Menel & The Essentials have released their new single ‘They Call Her Leaf’.
With a massive sound to the track, there are elements of rock with a progressive influence that remind you of those classic rock songs that made such an impression, but at the same time sounds modern and crisp sounding, having all the right elements to make this a stand out track. With recent plays on Planet Rock, it is a song to get noticed by a lot of rock fans.
Paul Menel is a singer/songwriter with a musical background both varied and eclectic and there’s no reason to think the future will be any different. He was frontman for top prog rock band IQ (from 1985 – 1990). Having taken time out from the music scene, Paul is now back with his new band, The Essentials, and ‘They Call Her Leaf’ is the first single from their new album, ‘Spare Parts For Broken Hearts.
Featuring his long time friend Vix Vox (Fuzzbox) on backing vocals it is a soaring anthem, a song of hope for when all seems hopeless. The character Leaf is the ethereal spirit who drives us on, unseen but ever present.
