The Amorettes, Dirty Thrills, Fire Red Empress Live At The Borderline, London

The Amorettes


It was the first Planet Rock Live event of the year and it couldn’t have started with a better line up. Hosted by Wyatt Wendels who is at the forefront of featuring new music on his New Rock Show every Saturday, all 3 bands have been heavily featured on the show. Paul Anthony also made an appearance and with many in the audience regular Planet Rock listeners, there was a good turnout for a mid-week gig.

Empire Of Fools To Release New Single ‘Devil Inside’

Southwest based Empire Of Fools are set to release their latest single ‘Devil Inside’ on 15th February and due to it being such a brilliant sounding single, it also gets its debut on The New Rock Show on Planet Rock on Saturday 31st January from 10 pm. The song has already been played on numerous radio stations around the globe and has also been named as a Track of The Week by Classic Rock Magazine.

Tax The Heat Live At The Garage, London

Tax The Heat


It has been a momentous year for Tax The Heat with appearances at Download, Calling Festival and for a second year in a row Planet RockStock as well as support slots for Black Star Riders, The Virginmarys and The Graveltones, a special headline show in Bristol and named as support for the Thunder tour next year, all this from a band that has yet to release a debut album. Such is the strength of their live performances that many rock fans go to see them play and last night the band were on excellent form for their final gig of the year.

Time To Hunt Down BlackWolf


I always listen to The New Rock Show on Planet Rock as Wyatt Wendels features 5 new artists each Saturday that are not heard during the day and it is an excellent opportunity to listen to some great bands that are probably new to many of those that tune into the show. So when Wyatt played the BlackWolf single Moving Mountains a couple of weeks ago, I really liked how they sounded and I wanted to hear more of them.

I listen to Planet Rock during the day when I am working with Wyatt Wendels show from 10-2pm being a particular favourite and on a Friday throughout the Summer he has a segment called Festival Friday where you can win tickets to a major event such as Download, Sonisphere, Calling Festival and last week it was British Summer Time which in honour of the headlining band had been renamed Black Sabbath Time.
