Melbourne-raised, LA based “guitar phenom” (Guitar World) Hamish Anderson started playing when he was 12 and after issuing a pair of EPs and a live album, is ready to release his debut full-length, ‘Trouble’ on October 21 via Kobalt/AWAL.

On ‘Trouble’, Anderson worked with seven-time Grammy Award winning producer Jim Scott (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Wilco, Grace Potter) and recorded predominantly live. Decamping to Scott’s LA-area warehouse studio, Anderson was backed by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos on baritone sax; drummers Frederik Bokkenheuser (Ryan Adams), Aaron Sterling (John Mayer) and Johnny Radelat (Gary Clark Jr.); bassists Chris Bruce (Doyle Bramhall II, Meshell Ndegeocello) and Rob Calder (Angus & Julia Stone); and Chris Joyner (Ryan Bingham, Heart) and Jason Borger aka Jerry Borgé (Jonathan Wilson) on keys. It was mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys) at Master Garden Mastering.

Hamish is a blues rock artist who was the last artist to open for the late BB King and completed a 12 city tour opening for The Rides (featuring Stephen Stills, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Barry Goldberg). In addition to these tours, he has performed over sixty shows in the US including seven showcases during SXSW; as well as Robert Cray, Los Lobos, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Wynona Judd and Blues Traveler.

He received an award for Best Blues Song by the Independent Music Awards for his single ‘Burn’, was a finalist in the Independent Acoustic Music Awards for ‘Street Lights’ and was profiled in Huffington Post “Beyond the Six Strings” as well as The Blues Magazine UK for their “Future of Blues Music” issue in 2015.

The first single, the title track from the debut album, ‘Trouble’, was released in April. Since then, it has received over 1k reported spins on BDS; been ranked in the top 80 of the Indicator charts; and has also enjoyed several weeks at #1 in Ocean City, MD at WOCM starting in June on AAA non comm radio. Additionally it was selected for Spotify’s official “Blues Roots & Rock” playlist on release, as well as Discover Weekly on Spotify.

Hamish is one of those blues rock artists that you really need to check out.
